Curated Properties is an exciting new boutique firm, helmed by Adam Ochshorn and Gary Eisen. Ochshorn is the founder of Grand Metropolitan Residences and Eisen owns Dewbourne Developments. The boutique business came out of a partnership where the two professionals worked on Annex Loft Houses, a modern townhome project on Dupont Street, and decided to merge their experience and visions.
Ochshorn comes from a family with strong roots in real estate, whom he credits with nurturing his interest in architecture and building. After graduating from university, he worked for his father as an on-site supervisor and bought a cheap plot of land with a tear-down bungalow on it in the Lawrence and Avenue neighbourhood. After building a completely new home on the site he was hooked, and progressed to building progressively larger townhouse projects.
According to Ochshorn, the name “Curated Properties” came about as part of their company philosophy, which sees the development and sales process as one that should be seamless, customized and comfortable, like a piece of art being exquisitely cared for. That being said, the term “curated” could just as easily refer to the organization’s choosy nature, opting to create intimate and unusual homes, instead of conventional skyscrapers on mainstream downtown lots.
When a niche development firm is founded by two professionals with over two decades of experience in the development industry, you know you’ve got an exceptional organization on your hands.
